Last account activity shows you information about recent activity in your mail. Recent activity includes any time that your mail was accessed using a regular web browser, a POP1 client, a mobile device, etc. We'll list the IP address that accessed your mail, the associated location, as well as the time and date.
To see your account activity, click the Details link next to the Last account activity line at the bottom of any Gmail page.
How to understand this data
Access type
If you're concerned about unauthorized access to your mail, you'll be able to use the data in the 'Access type' column to find out if and when someone accessed your mail. For instance, if the column shows any POP access, but you don't use POP to collect your mail, it may be a sign that your account has been compromised.
Location (IP address)
In this column we list the last 10 IP addresses your mail was accessed from, and the associated locations.
If you received a warning about suspicious activity in your account, you might also see up to 3 IP addresses that have been labeled as suspicious as well as the 10 normal IP addresses. If you usually sign in to Gmail using a single computer, your IP address2 should be the same, or start with the same two sets of numbers (for example: 172.16.xx.xx). Each row in the table represents an event where someone accessed your mail or attempted to sign into your account using the correct password. If you see an IP address that is unfamiliar to you, we suggest you change your password immediately to secure your account against unauthorized access. Your current IP address is displayed below the table. In most cases, we guess the location by matching your IP address to a broad geographical location. The location and IP mappings might not always be accurate, especially in cases where the logins are old.
If you have POP3 or IMAP3 enabled, you'll see this in your recent activity table. If you're using Mail Fetcher with another Gmail account, a Google IP will appear; this is simply because the messages are being fetched through our servers. In addition, if you use a third party service with your Gmail service, such as social networking sites, we can't guarantee the security of the third party service. In this case, you might consider using forwarding if possible. If not, please make sure that your account recovery details are fully up to date.
In addition, if you access Gmail on a mobile device, your login history will contain mobile logins that may appear to come from your carrier’s mobile Internet gateway(s). Note that mobile gateways may be in a geographic location far from the area where you’re accessing your account. If the address belongs to your mobile provider, this is considered legitimate access to your account.
If you’d like to look up the Internet Service Provider that owns and leases and IP address, you may use a free IP reverse search service such as http://whois.domaintools.com/
If you'd like to find more information than what's provided in the 'Last account activity section', it's Google's policy to only provide information pursuant to a valid third party court order or other appropriate legal process.
Concurrent sessions
If your mail is currently being accessed from another location, we'll list the other session(s) in a 'Concurrent session information' table. If there are other sessions displayed, this could mean that you simply have another browser4 window open with Gmail loaded, or that you're sign in on another computer (for example, if your home computer is signed in to Gmail while you're accessing your mail from work.) If you're concerned about any concurrent access, you can sign out all sessions other than your current session by clicking Sign out all other sessions.
By putting up a warning, aren’t you just signaling to the bad guys that they’ve been caught?
We’ve designed the alert to only be displayed to users who have performed logins that we believe are legitimate. If we detect suspicious activity from a particular IP address, we won't show the alert to users coming from that IP address.
I'm receiving frequent alerts in my account. What does this mean?
If you're confident that you're seeing multiple alerts due to frequent traveling or mobile access, you are able to disable this alert from the last account activity details page.
If you're uncertain or you don't recognize the activity, this may be an indication that your account has been compromised via malware. Malware, also called badware, is malicious software that attempts to steal sensitive information from your computer, send spam, or commit fraud. This type of software is often bundled with other free downloads without your knowledge.
I think my account is compromised
If you think your account has been compromised, follow all the steps on the Gmail security checklist to secure your account.
If you'd like more information on account security, we suggest reading some tips on Keeping Your Data Secure.
Can I turn the Last Account Activity Alert off?
You can turn off Last Account Activity Alerts by changing your alert preferences underneath the recent activity table. Click change, next to Show an alert for unusual activity and you'll have the option to never show an alert for unusual activity. Keep in mind that we need about a week to disable this feature, to make sure the bad guys aren't the ones who turned off your alerts.
POP: POP (Post office protocol) is a one-way download of your messages that allows you to access your mail with a mail program like Outlook Express or Apple Mail. POP only offers one-way communication, which means that actions you take in the mail program (like marking a message as read) won’t be synced to Gmail.
IP address: An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a series of numbers that identifies a digital device such as your computer. They work like your home address--they allow data to arrive at the correct Internet location.
IMAP: IMAP (Internet message access protocol) lets you download messages from Gmail so you can access your mail with a program like Outlook Express or Apple Mail. IMAP syncs the actions you take in Outlook Express or Apple Mail with Gmail so if you read a message in your mail client, it'll be marked as read in Gmail.
browser: A browser is an application you can use to access the Internet and visit websites. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari are all examples of browsers.

Many websites are linking to Megaupload for uploading their content as it’s a really faster and the best uploading websites. The thing pisses us off on this website is the timer which tickers every time you download as a free user so today we will see how to download from megaupload as Premium user. Well I posted previous post on how to get premium account for free for Megaupload, but that can take some time in getting your account approved maybe 24 hours or so so we will simply use the DNS technique hence downloading directly bypassing any limits.
Follow the below steps to Download as Premium from Megauplaod .:
1. Firstly you need to have a DebriDNS Account got to their website register – Verify – Login.
2. Now we have to tweak the DNS Setting in our PC so got to Local Area Connection in your Network Sharing center click it you will have something like below .:

4. Enter these values .:
Preferred DNS Server: 85.17.255.198
Alternative DNS Server: 46.19.33.120
5. That’s it now just click OK and restart your system
6. Now again login to your DebrisDNS account and go to the Megaupload link you wanna download now you will see just one Premium Download Link, no waiting and faster downloads.

Great news for all doodle fans. The famous les paul doodle which was available online has been made permanent. The ubiquitous search engine launched a dedicated page for its interactive Les Paul doodle on Thursday, which would have been Paul’s 96th birthday had he lived as long. He died in 2009 at 94.
The doodle consists of Google’s company logo in the form of a guitar. It comprises 10 electrified strings, virtual pickups, a recording button, and two anatomically incorrect, albeit cleverly situated, sound holes for the ‘Os.’ Thousands of people all over the world have come to enjoy this simple commemoration of a great guitar man and recording pioneer. One estimate suggests that, on Thursday alone, 5.3 million hours were spent plucking about on that little digital six-string.
“Google’s Les Paul Doodle consumed an additional 5,350,789 hours of time versus the 4,819,352 hours consumed by the Pac-Man Doodle… Users did not spend much more total time at their computer than previous periods, but they did spend 10% more time at Google’s website than they typically would, meaning that the 10% more time spent at Google was stolen from other computer use time,” it added.
Here in our offices, the entire office was filled with the sounds of amateur musicians trying to invent their own masterpieces all day Thursday. This is not the first doodle to get the standalone treatment. A May 2010 playable tribute to Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary proved so popular that Google let it lives on at Google.com/Pacman. The doodle zapped nearly 4.8 million hours of our productivity. Hopefully Google can continue with this tradition and continue to revive those good old days to us and our future generation
The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system.
To install a 64-bit version of Windows 7, you need a processor that's capable of running a 64-bit version of Windows. The benefits of using a 64-bit operating system are most apparent when you have a large amount of random access memory (RAM) installed on your computer (typically 4 GB of RAM or more). In such cases, because a 64-bit operating system can handle large amounts of memory more efficiently than a 32-bit operating system, a 64-bit operating system can be more responsive when running several programs at the same time and switching between them frequently.

This simple project shows you how to make a USB powered Nokia cell phone charger. The advantage is that it weighs much less than the bulky AC adaptor, and can be used wherever you have a computer or a laptop. I use this thing all the time now!
What do I mean by “safe charger”? Honestly I’m not sure. I’m just going on what I was able to infer from what I read off my multimeter. What I found was that the voltage across the nokia charge pins was rapidly fluctuating from Vdd to about 4 volts above Vdd. It would not do to have ~9 volts injected into a 5 volt bus! Thankfully, all you need to do is stick a diode in there and that’s that. So the diode might not be needed, but it’s safe! Thus, “Safe Charger”.
So far, it charges my phone just fine, but slightly slower than the wall wart that came with it. I think so, anyway. It’s hard to do any real comparison because I sacrificed my only nokia wall wart to make this charger. I live dangerously!
DISCLAIMEROID STATEMENTEY THING: Ok, so here’s the deal: You can really mess things up with this project! If you are not COMPLETELY confident in your abilities, just go and spend the $6 on a ready-made one of these doodads. They are available all over the internet. This project is for people with loads of useless cables lying around and 20 extra minutes to kill. Don’t blow out your expensive computer just to save a few bucks!
Step one: strip off the shielding and insulation on an inch or so of the usb cable. Clip the white and green cables to uneven lengths so they can’t conduct into each other or either of the power lines. Hopefully you should be left with a black wire and a red wire.
Step two: Clip off a length of the nokia chargers phone-side plug. You won’t be needing the wall wart part anymore. Strip off the insulation from the nokia plug wire. Hopefully you should have a red wire and a black one. the red wire should be connected to the inner barrel of the plug, and the black one should be connected to the outer barrel.
Step three: Attach a normal silicon diode (not a zener diode) with the line part towards the nokia plug. It should go between the red wires from both cables. Attach the black wires from each cable together.
I suggest staggering the lengths of the wires so that the solder joints have less chance of coming into contact.
Check all the wires with a multimeter to make sure they are really the right ones! The colors might not be standard...
Computer networking is a great way to collaborate with other computer users in your home or office. While it is becoming increasingly easy for the basic computer user, it can still be a difficult, frustrating experience for many people.
Before You Get Started
A boxed wireless router Understand the difference between town-wide wireless broadband (IEEE 802.16/WiMAX/Mobile broadband) and a home wireless network (IEEE 802.11). This article deals only with the latter, generally known as WiFi (which requires no subscription, no roof aerial, no roof mounted dish). Wireless routers are variously known as gateways, access points, transmitters, hubs and switches. They are generally external and will be known as routers for this article. Wireless adapters are also known as modems or receivers and can be internal or external.
Steps
1
If buying router and adapter separately, ensure your wireless router is at least as new as your wireless adapter so that they use compatible standards (known as 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n). For maximum compatibility choose Tri-mode or dual-mode 802.11b/g standards.
2
If you are not using Windows XP, check that drivers are available for the chipset of the wireless adapter for your operating system before you buy.
Set up your new router
1
If you want to share a broadband connection via a wireless router, plug the new wireless router into your internet connection point (filter/splitter if ADSL, directly into phone socket if DSL)
2
If you have one, turn on your broadband connection and existing external modem FIRST (wait for all lights to return to normal).
3
Plug your router into your PC with an ethernet cable
4
Turn on your new wireless router SECOND (wait for it to start up fully).
5
Go to your internet browser and type http://192.168.0.1 (Belkin), http://192.168.1.1 (Linksys), http://192.168.2.1 (Others) and enter your username and password for your router (often this is "admin" for username and "admin" or "password" for password)
6
Enable wireless capability (SSID) and enter your username and password given to you by your internet service provider.
7
Choose WPA (or WEP if your card cannot handle WPA) security and enter a passkey and write it down.
Detecting your wireless adapter
1
Note the manufacturer and model of your wireless adapter then plug it into your PC.
2
If your operating system does not recognise the wireless adapter then get drivers from any discs that came with the adapter or, failing that, from the internet.
3
In Windows XP, either right click on the .inf file and click install, or enter Device Manager and Update Drivers on the Unknown Device.
4
Once Windows XP recognises your wireless device it should appear in Network Connections and offer you a choice of routers to connect to within range.
Connecting to a network
1
Choose your router (usually the manufacturer name aka SSID), the security method and enter the passkey in order to connect to it. Use Auto DHCP unless otherwise instructed.
2
This should find the wireless router (click refresh until it does) and connect to the network through the new router.
